The original firmware has a few goodies if you take it to hotels and such, but I got it to use as a mini wired AP for my home bedroom (where my main AP wifi does not reach but my Cat6 infrastructure does). I initially had a few difficulties configuring it as a standalone wired AP, because I was afraid to lose access to the router, so I first turned wifi ON, then connected to it. Only then I removed the VLAN 2 on the Switch settings, gave the WAN port to VLAN 1, then removed all WAN interfaces and created a LAN6 interface with an alias for @lan. Basically I disabled almost all services and joined wifi and all ethernet ports under one huge bridge on one transparent firewall (accept/forward everything). Now I have a dual stack ipv4+ipv6 wired AP. Awesome! Everything is working!
