Plug and play, uses a program called AMCap to record. Install the program from the CD, then plug everything in. In the AMCap app, just click the devices button at the top and then pick the AV TO USB, control the VHS tape on your VHS player, and it shows up. Audio records really bad, but plays well when just watching, so another method of screen recording should work.
