50gram 99.9% Cerium Metal - Element 58 sample VAC PACKED 2024 - Material is well packaged, under oil. The metal is air-reactive as expected for cerium and pyrophoric when struck with a steel blade.However, the material is very hard, indicating that it is not pure cerium metal as cerium is not hard. The material is likely to be a cerium-based alloy such as ferrocerium or mischmetal containing other additives that make it much harder than cerium.
