This antenna works great and is one of the best in having gain and reach. But has a few negatives. 1 — it is heavier than a telescoping antenna of similar performance (on the 2 meter band) and length. This can cause damage to your radio antenna connector. The telescoping antenna only does the 1 band and this one is claimed to be dual band. 2 — The female sma type for a Baofeng radio needs a rubber washer to prevent water getting into radio. 3 — When shipped it is folded in 2 places and is in that folded position for a long time. This weakens the metal at those points especially if it gets other heavy things laced on it during shipping. I recommend you store it not folded. Overall it’s an ok antenna if you need performance with dual band ability.
